Thank you for visiting the website of the Gap Corporation, the business association for Big Stone Gap, Virginia. The Gap Corporation is directed by a volunteer board comprised of local business people who believe Big Stone Gap is a very special place to live and work.

The heritage of Big Stone Gap and the surrounding area has been preserved in many historic sites that are open to the public:

Big Stone Gap native, Adriana Trigiani, has captured in fiction the very essence of this small town and the people who make it unique in her novels: Big Stone Gap, Big Cherry Holler, Milk Glass Moon, Lucia, Lucia and Home to Big Stone Gap.
While in Big Stone Gap, take a day trip to visit the Wilderness Road State Park located in Ewing, Virginia, on the Daniel Boone Trail. Also close by are the Natural Tunnel State Park where you can see a tunnel formed through rock by the erosive action of water and Breaks Interstate Park where you can see the “Grand Canyon of the South”. Visit sites along “The Crooked Road,” such as the Ralph Stanley Museum in Clintwood, Virginia, and the Carter Fold in Hiltons, Virginia, and enjoy the heritage and vitality of the traditional music of the region. In addition to all these unique features, there are hundreds of miles of hiking and biking trails.
